Friends,
We are two weeks into our Kickstarter campaign. What an adventure! We started off really strong, thanks to many of you, and have received pledges for over $22,000, which feels amazing. That’s well over a third of our goal. To keep momentum moving, we are injecting…
…a time-sensitive plot twist!
Help us reach $30,000, or 50% of our funding goal, by Monday evening and receive a new reward. Click here or on the image!
Pledge $250 between now and Monday evening (this coming Monday, 4/29) and you’ll receive in the mail* a bundle of three fantastic books signed by their authors—Andre Dubus III, Hank Phillippi Ryan, and Gish Jen—each of whom is a majorly accomplished writer, a Boston area literary citizen, and part of the Galiot Press cheering squad:
GHOST DOGS: ON KILLERS AND KIN: A newly released collection of personal essays by Andre Dubus III, best known for HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG (a finalist for the National Book Award and adapted to the screen starring Ben Kingsley) and his memoir, TOWNIE (winner of an American Academy of Arts and Letters Award in Literature).
ONE WRONG WORD: a psychological thriller by the gazillion-times award-winning author and WHDH-TV investigative reporter Hank Phillippi Ryan (I mean, she has 37 Emmys, five Agathas, and a Mary Higgens Clark Award, among others).
THANK YOU, MR. NIXON: a widely-praised short story collection by former Guggenheim and Radcliffe fellow, and current Harvard professor, Gish Jen, author of eight other books.
But please don’t wait until Monday to pledge.
The sooner the better, to help build momentum. Remember that if we don’t make our funding goal, we will get nothing at all, and won’t be able to select and produce our first three books.
Andre, Hank, and Gish all believe in our mission and want us to succeed. We know you do, too, or you wouldn’t have subscribed to this newsletter. Please pledge now!
(No reading wrap-up this time around as we are focused on raising our start-up funds and preparing our upcoming talks at the Women’s National Book Association—Boston Chapter, and the Muse and the Marketplace conference in Boston.)
THANK YOU, everyone. Together we are going to reach our goal.
*(Because of the cost, we can only ship this bundle to US addresses. Even media mail rates are ludicrous to send out of the US. If you are based in another country and would like to support us, there are LOTS of other reward options on our Kickstarter page.)
