I'm confused because it looks like you're charging for everything. What does being a paid subscriber actually get me or do you expect me to pay even more for everything? If so, then I believe I was misled into becoming a paid subscriber. Please clarify.

Ginni, those who pay for a Substack subscription get, in addition to our regular newsletters every two weeks, a behind-the-scenes look at the production process for our books, which comes out once a month. Last month, for example, Henriette discussed some details of the editorial process on our first book, SWALLOWTAIL. If you had, indeed, been a paying subscriber, you would have been able to read that extra content. The classes and workshops are a completely different thing. We charge for classes by guest instructors because we pay these instructors, as is normal--and as you’ll find with places like GrubStreet, The Loft, Sackett Street, and many others. We continue to offer free informational classes and one-page feedback workshops when we (Galiot Press editors) are the ones running them. That is part of how we give back to the writing community. We hope this clarifies things for you.
